I’m Julia Altork, and this is what you need to know . . .

I live in the beautiful city of Greenville, South Carolina, though I’m not Southern. I’ve had a least a thousand once-in-a-lifetime moments, and I’ve cried at least a million tears. I laugh at things other people find absurd, enjoy things no one else seems to appreciate, and have finally learned to quit faking liking and laughing just for the sake of fitting in. Sometimes I drive my kids to school in my pajamas, and I never say the right thing at the right time. Ever.

I’m married to a man who still makes my knees weak and my heart flutter.

I have three children, and I think being a mom is the best gig in the universe. Sometimes it makes me wish a cartoon anvil would land on my head and offer the sweet relief only death can bring. But most times it fills me up in a way that nothing ever will. Jack is 12 years old. He loves soccer more than life itself. Think David Beckham. Same-same. Luke is 9, and is, in my humble opinion, the funniest human I know. Sometimes I have to hold up my hand just to get him to shut his pie-hole so I can stop laughing and catch my breath. My sweet angel, Cecelia, was born in 2013. She’s so full of giggles she can barely find enough hours in the day to get them all out and I worry her brothers are going to turn her into the world’s youngest female MMA fighter in history. Raising them and getting to help shape who they become has been my privilege and honor. When I am asked on the other side to provide my life’s resume, there will be only three entries- each of them.

I love photography. Love, love, love it. If I’m not behind the camera every couple days, I feel my blood begin to dry up. It is the engine that propels me down this path and the purpose of this blog, and without it, I feel adrift.

Thanks for stopping by. Say “Hi” , share. If you were wondering if you should leave a comment, you should, but only if you have something nice to say, I dislike grumpy humans.
