I have always been a traditional film based photographer. I work mostly with large format cameras, both 4" x 5" and 8" x 10". I have other cameras... medium and small formats, but rarely use them. When the world went digital, it left me behind. I do not enjoy sitting at a computer and much prefer the rhythm of the darkroom. Every photograph that I take is self processed in my personal darkroom.

I am based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and also have a part time residence in the Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains. I photograph mostly in these areas. My forty year working career, running a small manufacturing company, came to an end in 2020 when I retired. Up until then, my travels were limited due to my work commitments. Now that I am freed from my day job, I look forward to travelling a lot more, though the Covid pandemic has paused these plans, at least temporarily. As I find it difficult to travel by air with large cameras most of my work is done on road trips.

I also enjoy experimenting with different film and developer combinations and some of the work that I post is sharing the results of that experimentation.

The copyright to all work posted remains with the photographer. Please do not use any of my images without my permission.

I welcome any and all questions and comments.
