Yarn Bombing: Yarn bombing is a relatively recent form of street art that employs colorful displays of knits or crochet and other fiber material instead of paint in public space.
My name is Knitteapolis and I am a Minneapolis yarnbomber. I started my Guerrilla Kindness Yarnbombing movement in May of 2014 and have installed over 500 yarnbombs in the Twin Cities since. If you would like to request a location to be yarnbombed or would like some more info you can email me at: DearDropStitch@gmail.com

HOW TO YARN BOMB:
1. Plan where you're going to tag.
2. Tag as quickly as possible.
3. Take photos! Be proud and show your work.
4. Make a plan to take it down. 2 months is a good goal unless you see it starting to get ratty due to mother nature.
5. Don't be upset if it gets taken down. This will happen and that's OK. Street art has a short lifespan. Now you get to plan another fun yarnbomb.
"The appeal of making yarn bombs is obvious: They're fun, furtive artistic expression -- and completely harmless. As the authors of a book on the subject put it, yarn bombing is "improving the urban landscape one stitch at a time." Getting mad about them would be like hating puppies."

Warning: Avoid trees when possible or plan to take down your yarnbomb after 1 month. Why? 1. They're already pretty. 2. The yarn can interfere with the sap in the spring and hurt the tree. 3. If your yarn gets wet it can grow mold and kill the tree.
