I retired Christmas 2017. I was the CEO of a youth & community project and also worked professionally as a programme director in outdoor adventure for many years. When I left school I served my time as a carpenter and joiner, which was a great time of learning for me. I ran my own company for about 10 years before becoming involve in youth work. I studied several academic courses in coaching & mentoring, business and finished of doing and MBA. I have been canoeing for 40 yrs and coaching for 37 yrs. I love pre 1840's North American Fur Trade Era and all the elements of that time; canoes, black powder guns, leather work, cooking, tools used and the clothing. I find old technologies more fascinating than modern technology. Now retired I am back in my woodwork shop and my blacksmithing shop. I enjoy making authentic history items like iron work, leather work, powder horns and wooden items. My 3 children are grown up and I look forward to my wife retiring so we can travel more. Canoeing plays a major part of my life so all these skills keep me busy and I still coach and run skills workshop in all of the areas stated above. Photography and video work are a hobby to help record what I do to record the memories for myself and my family and friends.
