I'm a biotechnology major, non-traditional student, and I have a personal food and travel blog which I haven't updated recently but hope to get back to someday.

I don't know if I want to be a professional food writer, because I've found that when you make food into your job, you suck all the joy out of dinner. One thing I have learned, though, is that people don't want to just read about food and the places you've been. They want to see it. I've tried to accomodate that. Unfortunately, I'm not a visual person and I'm more likely to accidentally strangle myself with my camera strap than take a decent picture. I'd like to improve on that.

I have a slightly battered Nikon D5000 and I know how to do some very basic image adjustments in Photoshop, like resizing and changing contrast and saturation.
