Daniel Pettersson's interest in birds dates back to the early 1990s when his father, an avid birdwatcher, introduced him to the wonders of nature. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Daniel grew up spending nearly every weekend outdoors, collecting mushrooms and berries, observing birds, and simply relishing the refreshing air and tranquility that only nature can provide.

After a brief hiatus from birdwatching, he rediscovered his passion in the early 2000s. It was during a vacation in Egypt in 2004 that he stumbled upon a remarkable discovery. He realized that he could capture images of birds by aligning the family's digital camera with his field scope, leading to a photograph of a Grey Kingfisher perched on a riverbank in Aswan, Egypt. This moment marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his life.

Since that fateful encounter, Daniel has devoted a substantial portion of his time to photographing birds. He embarked on numerous national and international journeys to capture various bird species, with a particular affinity for coastal environments and shorebirds. Daniel's photographs have been featured in several books and publications, the most recent ones being "Tous les oiseaux d'Europe" (2015) and "Europas Vadefugle" (2015).
