Brian Enright was born in San Francisco and raised in the east bay. He studied Cognitive Science and Human Computer Interaction in SanDiego where he acquired comprehensive knowledge about user centered design from the pioneers of the field. Following two years in the industry, giving recommendations on re/designs of websites, something was still missing and he had to turn his focus and effort toward what he truly loved and was best at: Design in the physical world.
The majority of his work made from salvaged material, and re-use design is, for him a balance between the necessary destruction of objects in order to create, and the breathing of new life into those things deemed useless. Influenced by futuristic artists like Paul Pope, and classic functionalists like Alvar Aalto, he attempts to balance these industrial and organic ideas, with function and form in each piece.
He is currently creating gallery work in both furniture and art. His work featured at the recent ' 08 SF Bicycle Coalition's Winterfest Auction was the 4th highest selling piece at the end of the night. And he has furniture in both Zinc Details, SF and 510 Studio in Oakland.
