I am Canadian photojournalist living in the Dominican Republic . For the past 20 something years I have been collecting vivid images of stories . I want to be on the edge unnoticed and unseen . My work in the Dominican Republic goes beyond the resorts . I spent a day in Moca getting shots during and after a flooding . I watched as each room was washed out and furniture was shifted from room to room . A bottled of beer was shared amongst them mostly Dominican Women and music blasted in the back ground . I watched the rain fall and again the room slowly filled with water . During Hurricane Maria I twice rescued my 2 girls a year old Rottweiler and a 2 year old Rottweiler mix , I waded through the house in waist deep water , both girls led by the year old , swam out safely . My cameras were in a dry spot so the memory will be it . But the images I shot of the courage of the Dominican People will live on . My work is a road map to where I have been and where I want to be
