I love photography - Photography idol: Callie de Wet.

I am a senior lecturer (in my early fourties) at the Department of Informatics (Business Computer Science) at the University of Pretoria. After completing my Phd in 2014, I decided to persue photography as a more serious hobby. I love like so many South Africans, the beauty that our country offers. There is nothing like seeing a beautifull baobab, an african sunset, a lion, a cheetah or a leopard... every time it stays special.

Like Callie said (in a slightly different manner), photography is the anticipation of capturing that special moment in the best way possible with your camera, so that you and others can treasure it and re-live it. This brings me to the most difficult thing for me in photography, namely patience... patience to wait for that special moment... patience to capture that special moment...
