ive been into photography for some time now, and still going.

recently ive been really into restoring old cameras, mainly rangefinders. something so cool about bringing one back to life after its been sitting in a closet for 20 years.

i have my own webhosting biz, so if anyone wants a free photoblog, regular blog, or any other kind of website, ill be happy to host fellow flickerers for free. just shoot me an email.

i like taking things apart.

I sent a Canonet to Sotoman to fix a shutter problem but unfortunately it was beyond repair as it had been through the ringer before I ever got it. So... he offered me a Canonet that he already fixed. I got the camera yesterday with a nice little bundle of goodies to go with. I'm a happy customer! yay!

I sent Sotoman my QL17 to have its rangefinder realigned, battery check light repaired and general maintenance. He sent it back with all that done and so much cleaner than before. Focus lever is smooth at last and the viewfinder much clearer. It's going to be a lot more enjoyable to shoot with now.

Sotoman is one of those rare people who actually make this site into something meaningful. It was his vintage rangefinder shots that first opened my eyes to the artistry of his photography; I especially love his black and white work. Sotoman also restores cameras, and anyone who can do that to his level has my unreserved vote. (You really have to love photography and cameras to do that!) I have since learnt that Sotoman is an outstanding graphic artist and a complete web genius. If you have Sotoman on your contact list you will also have a big smile on your face!!
