I’ve always had an interest in railways and began taking my first photographs around 1985, aged 10! It wasn’t until 1993, when I had my first SLR camera (a Canon AL1) and started earning some cash that I began to take up photography seriously.

I started taking prints before progressing to 35mm slides. After becoming disillusioned with the quality of slide processing (and after dropping my camera!) I decided it was time to take up digital photography and purchased a Canon 60D in 2012. I’m currently getting to grips with a Canon 6D.

Over the years my main interest has primarily been the UK rail freight scene, although in recent years my attention has turned to photographing the ongoing decline of mechanical signalling and the general railway scene.

Hopefully, you’ll enjoy browsing through my shots and hopefully find something of interest.
