Mission

The National Preparedness and Response Corps, sponsored by the American National Red Cross and funded by an AmeriCorps grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service, will provide vital emergency assistance to communities affected by disaster, and increase preparedness in the areas of greatest need before disasters strike by recruiting, training, and supporting young adults who will provide American Red Cross direct service activities, integrated community outreach, and education focusing on disaster preparedness and community safety.

AmeriCorps*NPRC members meet these goals through providing disaster preparedness education and assisting in disaster response, specifically focusing on vulnerable or traditionally under-served populations.
