Serves as the organization's Visual Information Specialist working with a team of communications professionals to create a variety of visually compelling materials to inform the public stake holder groups and Marine Corps Logistics Command employees on important logistics topics. Assesses the purpose and target audience of a proposed publications and presentations in order to design presentations or create media that best conveys the thought for that audience. Prepares sketches and preliminary layouts to convey proposed visual solution. Conducts electronic, online, and/or manual research to select relevant data and art from varied sources, being careful not to use copyrighted art without written permission. Advises subject matter experts, photographers, editors and others who contribute to the development of presentations and publications on the preparation of art for printed material. Determines format and color treatment, considering the vehicle of presentation, time available, and methods of production. Uses computer software and traditional methods to produce original art for print as well as electronic distribution. Utilizes Adobe CS6 Master Suite to design, lay out, and prepare a wide variety of general and technical art work (such as line drawings, photographs, posters, brochures, briefing slides, tables and charts) within short and simultaneous deadlines. Produces and edits video and provides oversight and recommendation for multimedia projects. Researches the availability of, develops cost comparisons for, and writes justifications for purchasing state-of-the-art software, hardware, and tools required by the section.
