Biography

Patricia Willocq was born and raised in Kinshasa (Congo DCR) in 1980.

After completing her Master's degree in Translation at the Higher Institute of Translators and Interpreters in Brussels (ISTI) she decided to travel around the world and lived in Ireland, Belgium, UAE, Chile, Thailand and Congo.

Her interest in photography began to develop after being published twice in the magazine Geografica in Chile in 2005.

Patricia is part of Corbis Images agency since September 2013.

Her latest photo report about albinism in the Congo called "Blanc Ebène" (White Ebony in English) has won a honorable mention from the Unicef Photo of the Year Award and has been featured in many magazines and newspaper around the world.

Patricia Willocq est née et a grandi à Kinshasa (Congo RDC).

Après avoir terminé ses études de traduction à l'Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes (ISTI) à Bruxelles, elle décide de parcourir le monde et s'expatrie en Irlande, en Belgique, aux Emirats Arabes, au Chili, en Thailande et au Congo.

Son intérêt pour la photographie a débuté après avoir été publiée deux fois dans le magazine chilien Geografica en 2005.

Aujourd'hui, elle fait partie des contributeurs principaux de Corbis Images U.S.

Son dernier reportage photo sur l'albinisme au Congo, intitulé "Blanc Ebène" a remporté une mention d'honneur au concours photos Unicef photo of the Year award. Il a été publié dans plusieurs magazines et journaux dans le monde entier.
