Margaret, mother, and Megan , daughter, George's The ZEN Succulent is a modern take on traditional terrariums , with their use of contemporary glass vases filled with minimal color-blocked landscapes and live greenery. The ZEN Succulent plays with the concepts of nature's classical elements (air, earth, and water) though their individual terrariums use of tillandsia air plants, Japanese marimo balls, and vibrant succulent plants that each inhabit its respective landscapes. The ZEN Succulent's inspiration lies in their natural surrounds of Raleigh, North Carolina, love for urban planting and delight in color.

Each ZEN Succulent terrarium is created solely by hand featuring natural and preserved plants and sea life. The ZEN Succulent's design process is completely organic though gathering all terrarium components in hand and dropping them on their craft table. Where the items fall dictates the direction of the design, making each terrarium one of kind. The ZEN Succulent hand mix's their own soil and use locally sourced plants (some of which are urban grown from clippings at Margaret and Megan's home). The remaining terrarium supporting elements come directly from harvesters and fabricators in the Philippines, Japan and throughout North America.

They both enjoy having the opportunity to display their terrariums and be able for others to enjoy them as well.
