Dear reader,

Due to my failing eyesight, I am no longer active on Flickr.

My eyesight has been deteriorating slowly since 2007 when I first noticed that the vision in my left eye was beginning to falter. Fortunately, that in my right eye was still good for a few more years and I was able to continue with my lifelong passion for walking. However, in April 2018, I suddenly lost all remining vision in my left eye and most of that in my right and my condition continues to worsen. Since May 2022 I have been registered Severely Sight Impaired/Blind, finally putting an end to my walking and other outdoor activities such as photography. I am now unable to see and recognise most of my own pictures, let alone those of others, and for that reason I very rarely look at Flickr anymore. However, rather than delete my account, I have chosen to let it remain (at least whilst Flickr allows this) on the off-chance that any information contained within the descriptions of certain photos may be of use to anyone seeking such information.

Thanks to all those who have commented on or faved my pictures in the past, and to those contacts (at least the more local ones) who I know personally, I sincerely hope we will meet again – just look out for the old fella with the white stick. Until then, adios my friends.
