To me, the art of photography is all about the final image!!
My 40-year career in architectural millwork was restricted by plans and specs. In chapter 2 of life, I am on an adventure to deviate from that precision and explore my less confined thoughts. It is more challenging than I thought to re-wire my brain from a disciplined career to an “it's ok if you colour outside the lines” thought process!
I'm constantly evolving into a new thought process which is not centre-weighted on the tools. Instead, my interest is how the “artist" uses those tools to convey their vision into a final image. It is a hard transition from my previous life and at times my style is still like a "kid in a candy store". I just want to try it all!
If someone's image sparks me at the moment I will tap that favourite button. I often review my favourites later and study what caught my eye. Some have compelled me to make a short comment and longer on others.
There is so much to learn on many levels but to me, it is still all about the artist’s final image!
As my daughter constantly reminds me “Dad, you be you and I'll be me!” So I pass on this pearl of wisdom, enjoy being you and I will enjoy being the quirky me!
