I've shot for over 50 years, but I have no pretense at art or journalism. My photographic philosophy is, "I was with this person in this place at this time."
My first toy camera came in Topper Toys' "Secret Sam" attache case in 1965. I started borrowing my dad's 35mm Kodak rangefinder, then bought a Nikon after I got my first job at age 16. When a burglary took my entire camera package, I had nothing for years, then bought a Pentax 35mm "point n' shoot" in the '90s just to photograph my children. I wish now that I had replaced my Nikons!
