A Photographic Journey

I live in England, Southend-on-Sea to be accurate. However, I was born in Ilford (London) and moved to Southend when I was 14. I have lived there ever since and therefore decided to call my Flickr Photostream 'Images-on-Sea'.

Images-on-sea did not start out on Flickr. Originally, it was web blog which started in July 2012 and migrated to Flickr in March 2015. It was a bit of a task but all of the original images and data have been transferred.

I have been enjoying photography since I was very young and was given my first camera. Considering how long I have been interested in photography it is perhaps surprising that I am not better at it.

I started in photography during the days of film (remember that stuff) but I have now moved on to digital imaging. However, I didn’t get seriously into digital until 2004 when I purchased a Canon EOS 300D, this was followed four years later by a Canon EOS 50D. My current equipment is a Canon EOS 70D and a variety of lenses. Where image manipulation is required Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are my tools of choice.

I originally started Images-on-Sea to give me a purpose to go out and take photographs. My aim is (and has always been) to upload a few photographs each week. I hope that this will challenge me to try new ideas and techniques and allow me to learn new things along the way. Therefore, I would greatly value your constructive comments on my work.
