Hello, my name is Liam Baker. I am a photographer/entrepreneur/student at Polaris Expeditionary Learning School. I shoot with a Nikon D3100 with a standard zoom lens.I usually like to use speed lights and natural lighting in my photos, but I also use studio lights occasionally. I prefer speed lights and natural lighting because it gives me more options with my photography and allows me to reach places creatively that I wouldn't normally be able to achieve with the studio lights. Usually when I take portraits I like to start with something simple, and then import it to photoshop and go nuts with it. Lots of layer masks, hue/color changes, and transformations of layers.

Some photographers that have inspired me are Peter Beste, Gabe Morford, Michael Burnett, Craig Stecyk III, Atiba Jefferson, and Richard Avedon. Most of the photographers I like are skateboard photographers that use lots of speed lights/natural lighting to shoot, and I'd like to purchase my own speed light to try and get into a similar aspect of photography. I really like Peter Beste's photos because he doesn't seem to use many fancy lights or anything, he kind of just takes photos of what he sees and still makes it look incredibly breathtaking.

In the future I'd like to get portraits that aren't really portraits, more action shots if anything... people playing music, skateboarding, etc.
