My real name is Alex Steward, my artist name is Jason Black, and I am a junior in high school at Polaris. This is my first photo class in several years, I used to do photography a lot more and I had a different flicker site under my artist name. I love taking moody pictures because of all the emotions that a human possesses pain, sadness, and anger is truly honest. I used to take a lot of portraits of girls bursting into tears, but after a while my own depression got in the way of taking pictures and doing other things so I stopped.
But in this class I tried to do some of my old work. I thought that it all looked really good considering that I haven’t used Photo shop or any cameras in at least three years. I’ve been using a Nikon 3100 that the school provides and my effort has been very slim, but my pictures have been coming out very well. I wanted to take a few cemetery shots but I forgot my SD card so I lost out on that one. My shots I hope show a darker emotion of the human mind. I don’t like it when people judge my pictures for people not smiling because I don’t and I don’t like smiling in my pictures.
