My name is Mariana Henke. I have been taking photos for about 3 months in our school photography class. Before taking this class I didn't have hardly any experience with photography other than the simple point and shoot. After taking this class I have learned so much that I include into my photos every single time I take photos and edit them.

From being in this class I have gotten to see not only my peers work but also work of professional photographers. Some of my favorite types of photos are of animals and landscapes, but my all-time favorite photos are black and white portraits. Something about black and white photos in general I think is very cool. During this last week I took a photo of one of my friends in black and white and I personally love it so much and I think is one of my best photos. Some types of photos that I don't like as much are some nature pics. Something about some nature pics just don’t hook me in or engage me like other photos do. It’s not like I hate them I just don’t get them, as much as other pictures.

During this class I had the privilege to use a new Cannon camera. It was so cool to use but normally and for most of my photos I just use my point and shoot Cannon Power Shot 5X200 IS. I have always loved to take photos. I love being able to capture moments and being able to be creative and do what I want. Because I can’t control some things in my life it is a way for me to control it, do what I think is cool and just be imaginative and creative. My future in photography isn't going to be super professional. I have other dreams and goals but I think photography will always be somewhat a part of my life. I also may look into taking another class here at my school before I graduate. All of my photos are up for anybody’s use but please give me credit or ask for permission.
