Bird-watching in Australia has been a hobby of mine for around 40 years, and in 2014 I purchased a camera with a zoom lens, a Canon SX50. On day one I took a photo of a dragonfly that turned out to be a Common Glider (Tramea loewii ), and the photo was selected by staff at "Wildlife Australia" for the front cover of their magazine in 2015. Subsequent research led to a keen interest into the world of Odonata, and a gradual upgrading of camera equipment. Now I use a Canon EOS 7D MkII with 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 lens, a 100mm f2.8, or Tamron 150-600 mm. My favourite subjects are birds, dragonflies, and spiders, but anything in the natural world gets my attention.
