Pursuing mediocrity in a world of excellence.

Quotes that suit me best:

"A man's gotta know his limitations."

"No gain.... no pain!"

Idiot with too much time on his hands...

I like to use large format lenses to cast a large image that is then photographed digitally (cheapest way of playing around with large format).

I have a modern lens that will cover 5x7 inches.

I've recently bought a Petzval lens from the 1800s, so I'm currently obsessed with that. Unfortunately, being a portrait lens, I need to find people willing to be portraited, but my social circle is not big.

I've also bought a Rectilinear Lens from the 1890s, by Wood Brothers of Lord Street, Liverpool who sold lenses and magic lanterns.

I like to experiment with pin-hole and other box cameras, using Ilford paper as a negative, then scanning into computer for adjustment.

I also like to do some infra-red photograph when the sun is bright.

I also do some occasional Computer-Generated Images.

Direct Positive Paper would be my ultimate favourite type of photography because it's one of the few forms of photography where the result you hold in your hand is the paper that was in the camera... The Sun burned that image onto the paper you hold. Unfortunately I find it extremely hard to work with and my success rate is tiny.
