Hello fellow Flickring people!

My name is Lewis I am new to photography but I have really become interested in it. I am currently taking an intro to photography class in high school. The teacher of this class Cree Bol has really pushed me to become a better photographer and showing me different ways that I can make a photo look appealing. Some of these ways I have found more interesting than others.

Some of my favorite reasons to take pictures is you can really capture the emotion in the world and capture them in a photo. Even though I am not the best at it I am looking to improve it and to do that I have to practice. One type of picture that I have been successful in taking is of Landscapes. I really like the natural look of the world and how amazing the natural world can look and how it naturally looks. Besides taking photos I have really enjoyed editing photos as well.

This is the first time I have really edited photos to make them look better and I currently use a mixture of Photoshop Elements 9 when I’m in class and Gimp when I’m at home and don’t have access to Photoshop. I haven’t been shooting for too long but the camera that I use is an Olympus PEN mini E-PM1. This camera does all that I need and more; I am still learning all the functions for it and still have much to learn.

This class has really helped me improve my photography skills and also has made me think of what I want to do for the rest of my life. Photography will be a part of me for a long time and I plan to keep it as a hobby for the foreseeable future.
