Experience Harding Middle School through our lens!

Harding Media Club was established in 2013 after two teachers led a popular summer school course (Snap Shot). This course was offered during the summers of 2012 and 2013 and focused on basic photography skills. Each summer, they had approximately thirty students involved with Snap Shot. They operated on seven cameras that were loaned from various teachers in the building. After realizing that students were very interested in learning about photography, these teachers decided to create a club that would continue throughout the school year. Harding Media Club would incorporate photography, journalism, and graphic design.

In their first year, they had over eighty applicants and members. They published six student newsletters, titled The Timber Wolf Times. This was the first newsletter ever distributed at Harding. Students were taught how to create event posters on the computer. Most importantly, students took photos at various events for the Harding yearbook, website, and social media sites.

This year, Miss Wilcoxen and Mrs. Rudd are excited to start their second year engaging students through Media Club. Currently, Harding Media Club is operating off four Samsung digital cameras, teacher iPads, and the occasional SLR camera loaned to them by teachers in the building.
