I started taking photos 4 years ago with a Canon 500D. Went to several photo courses and accumulated a bit of kit to go with. There is always more and more to get.

I found I was fed up carrying all this stuff with me and looking so obviously serious about photography. The lenses gave too much expectation of brilliant results every time and also intimidated people out of acting naturally.

So, a complete rethink has led me to Fuji X100T for now at least, and the fun has come back. I'm taking my camera with me wherever I go...no aching shoulder!

I'm fortunate to have more time on my hands now, so more photos. The Flickr experience is so valuable to learn from others and gain an awareness of which photos are 'good' and which are just snaps.

Thank you to all who are giving me feedback in that way. I hope I shall contribute to others' experience as well.

My profile photo is of me taken by my Dad many years ago. I'm only realising now what a good photographer he was.
