Technology, I just cannot get enough, from computer technologies to consumer electronics.

So in 2001 as soon as my wallet recovered from other technological indulgencies I bought my first digital camera, the Fuji Finepix A101. After a while I wanted more control when taking photographs, and bigger image resolution for printing and editing.

Enter the Fulji Finepix S5000 zoom (2003), an intermediate camera with several features found on SLR models and a reasonable zoom lens. I knew nothing about photography then and it took a while to get to grips with some of the features. Now I wanted faster shutter speeds, lens options and yet bigger image resolution, and control of depth of field.

Digital SLR was the next step but I resisted all urges to rush out and buy anything as I needed to understand a lot more about photography. I started researching entry level digital SLR cameras, photographic technology, terminolgy and skills. After 18 months I took the plunge....

...and now own a Canon EOS 350D (Aug 2006) and added a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 LD macro 1:2 lens in addition to the 18-55mm lens that came with the camera kit.

Photography is now even more enjoyable than before. I am still learning, especially how to use the EOS 350D, and I am starting to view the world with an open mind and many perspectives.
