Father of 4 (2 boys and 2 girls) and have extended family of 3 step sons... so have learned to fight for my food (and won often as you can see!). Live in Airdrie and was employed by the Boots Company for 27 years before doing some voluntary work in schools in Social Inclusion areas. Exposure to education enticed me to get involved in teaching. Went to Bell College last year and completed degree and can't wait to be in mainstream education working with kids... oh and get earning again after 2 years without dosh.

Former Club Captain and President of Waysiders Drumpellier Rugby Football Club and love rugby. Still coach at Mini and Midi level and stopped playing, just for this year, so that I don't risk injury during Initial Teacher Education but have put my refereeing licence to good use as an Allocated referee for West Rugby Referees Society.

Have done a bit of after dinner speaking over the last few years at rugby dinners and thoroughly enjoyed it; shared 3 top tables with the great Andy Irvine.

Very philosophical in life and am the happiest man on the planet to have my lovely wife in my life as she overcame cancer and many operations... 11 years ago and still by my side.
