I used to draw and paint. . Now I get the same sort of joy from photography. I try to get it all "right" within my Nikon DSLR, just like I used to do with my Nikon FM2 SLR, a completely manual camera. I have kept the FM2 as a memento of my student days and beyond, finally going digital in 2009.. The painting and drawing were put on hold as my methods were too time consuming and I had to earn a living. Time is always an issue and there are never enough hours in the day...
I am inspired by the landscape, by hills, mountains, trees, flowers, water and reflections, by wildlife and weather. I love cats, sheep and all manner of living things. Odd as it may seem, I prefer clouds to blue skies, even though my favourite colour is blue....I love experimenting with ICM and multiple exposure.
i use my Nikon DSLR manually - focusing, exposure settings, depth of field etc. This gives me more freedom and control of the finished result, plus pure joy all through the photography process... I really enjoy processing my work, using Lightroom Classic since early 2015, which I love.
