When I was a child I tried to hide my braces, I had to wear after a Myelitis (infection of the spine). This because the class mates whre teasing and laughing at me and the way I had to walk. This went on in my teenage and young adult years, for exemple when I was looking for a partner. When taking photographs, the crutches were always put aside as they should not be seen on tne picture. I had to become 25 until I came to peace with the fact that I shall walk on crutches and and for longer distances also with braces for all my life. I am very happy to see a photographer who shows the beauty of handicapped people on his picures!
