Hey Flickr
Without knowing it, I begun my casual photography hobby when I received my first camera (Canon Powershot SX100 IS, 8MP) back in 2006 as a graduation gift for Grade 11. I never thought of it as a hobby back then and only used it as a way of capturing different events (mostly for facebook sharing). This offhand experience allowed myself to unconsciously learn the camera inside and out and become fairly good at composing a scene; and I eventually maxed out this camera's potential... Time for bigger better things.
I begun to search for an upgrade in the spring of 2014. After a month and a half of research, I settled upon the Nikon D5200, w/ starter kit. This camera is an amazing "Beginner" DSLR. I find it to be more on the professional side as opposed to the Canon Rebel lineup (known for their user friendliness). I settled with the 18-55mm and the 55-200mm kit lenses because the camera body was offered at an amazing price, (along with being offered with a myriad of other camera gear items). I recently purchased a Nikon 55mm f/1.8G lens, and I am looking forward to producing some great looking Bokeh'd photographs.
Stay tuned!.....
