Hi, I'm Kirsten and I live in the north of Germany, close to Hildesheim (near Hannover). I work full-time.
Nevertheless I tried my hand at many crafts before, but - since springtime 2012 - there is nothing I love more than quilting ...
So I deeply empathise with Cassandra Ellis when she writes:
"I realized that quilts were - and still could be - the absolute summation of homes, families, communities, and individuals. They are practical and very personal, which meant they became completely precious to the individual and familiy. Quilts represented both the maker's creativity and their family's history. As well as a means to provide warmth, quilts could be the ultimate storytellers." (World of Quilts, page 6, above)
In this sense I generally love all the bright and vibrant rainbow colors (solids and prints as well as batiks) and quarrel with true white, grey and black background solids ... so far ... In this respect it seems to be that I'm not "modern" ... in my soul ... but multicolored ... sometimes according to mood ... ;)
I'm curious and inquisitive yet loveing to overstep my comfort zones ...
I learned such a lot from all you other quilters, reading, watching Youtube videos or hopping through all these wonderful quilting blogs ...
In this regard I always look for quilting people to collaborate for corporate growth.
Are you living in my region???
Are you looking for members, participating in an interesting BEE???
What do you opine about a "Bee for two (or three)"?
Here I am!!! ;)))
Some suggestions for my BEE-sisters, supporting your fabric resp. color choices: ;)
I love medaillon-quilts resp. squared quilts ...
I favor cheerful fabrics, floral and/or smoothy designs, sometimes simple basics, spirals, dots, stripes ... for background "solids" I would prefer grey-beige naturals with words, numbers or simple hinted designs ... but mainly I would choose a color harmonizing fabric ... ;)
Principally I love harmonious transitions as well as complementary expressiveness ... ;)))
while traditionel muted colors and soft pastells are not so relevant for me ...
Perhaps ;) you would like to visite my webside:
