After experimenting with photography as a student in the 80s and 90s I really picked it up again when I started a family in the mid 2000s.

Almost 20 years later, the kids were still there, but sadly not interested in being photographed (and for a long time already). So I needed to stray from photographing my family to other areas of the field.

After 2010 I was most intrigued with adapting vintage lenses and exploring what they can do for me. For a long time I enjoyed experimenting with them creatively. I mostly shot wide open, pictures with little sharpness and plenty of bokeh - bubbly, swirly, soft, quirky, quadratic, etc..

About ten years ago I've commenced improving my ablities in landscape photography, which is not only a matter of skill but also of time and opportunity. I'm doing my best to catch some of the beauty around me on my bike rides and mountain hikes that I'm lucky to be able to do quite often, if time and my bones allow me.

I mostly roam aroundin the near mountains, preferably at dusk or dawn, in order to catch the best light available. I also enjoy the special peace and quiet out in nature at these times along with some experiences you couldn't have during the day, like observing wild animals that you wouldn't see otherwise.

I'm still relying on vintage glass on my A7R III, not so much on the quirky bokeh lenses nowadays, more the expensive quality glass of the past. I enjoy using it as reliable equipment with a small form factor. I also enjoy some of the less than perfect qualities that are entailed in their use, like glow and "gloomy" colors, if you know what i mean.
