I am a Native Texan now living in Georgia. But you know what they say, "You can take the man out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the Man". I moved to Georgia right after graduate school. I have to say, if you can't live in Texas, Georgia is the next best thing.

I'm now retired after 32 years with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the years I have become a rather avid amateur photographer that particularly enjoys wildlife and nature photography. I used to be an avid hunter and finally realized that photography gave me the opportunity to shoot the same animal many times. And then come back the next day and shoot him again. Don't get me wrong, I am not anti hunting, I am very pro hunting. Hunters have done more to restore habitat and conserve our wildlife than any other group. I just don't feel a need to do it anymore.

Fell in love with Africa on my first trip in 2001. A 21 day hunting safari with my son. Was the trip of a lifetime for many reasons. That was the last time I hunted. Went again in 2005 and 2006 on photographic safaris with my wife. Was hoping to make it a fourth time in 2008 but that didn't work out. But I will get there at least one more time. What an incredible place for anyone who loves wildlife. Africa does get in your blood and I hope that some of my photographs capture its magnificence.

Update: I will be going to Africa for my fourth time in May of 2013. I'm not sure I can stand the wait but it will be worth it. Africa is like no other place on earth. Once you've been, you will never get it out of your system.

I Went to Homer, Alaska in 2009 to photograph eagles. Another incredible experience. I saw more eagles in 4 days than I have seen or will see in the rest of my lifetime. I hope some of my images will capture that as well.

I have a lot of different photos in my stream. Lot's of wildlife, birds, Butterflies and travel photos. The best way to view my stream is to look at the albums and pick what interests you.

I appreciate any feed back on my photos, positive or negative. I learn from both.

A last thought. If you add me and you have over 300 contacts, it is highly unlikely that I will add you back. I have less than 100 contacts and have trouble keeping up with them. I am only interested in contacts that interact on a daily or close to daily basis.

One more thought. If you think clicking that star and making my pic a favorite is all you need to do, think again. You can click that without even looking at my photo. So if you don't take the time to comment, expect me to drop you as a contact.
