Avid vegetable gardener. Love experimenting/trialing my mad schemes for growing all my greens and strawberries in Rain Gutter Gardens--sometimes directly in the soil, other times in small 4 in. pots.

I also grow veggies (tomatoes, peppers, etc.) in self-watering container systems like commercial Earthboxes and Autopots. Also raised bed planters, using thick layers of mulch on top to slow down evaporation.

We are going through severe drought in California as I write this on August 2, 2014. We are taking seriously measures to conserve water, in the garden and in the house. We'll have to wait and see what the future holds.
