Well, let's see. I grew up as an Army brat which means I was fortunate to have had a very brave father who went to war 4 times for our great nation and to have a mother that was as patriotic in her support of him and being left to raise 4 children on her own much of the time. It also offered us the fabulous opportunity to have traveled and lived in many different places. We lived in Tokyo, Japan, in the early 50s and we were quite unique to the Japanese people especially since my mother was a redhead and my youngest sister at the time was a true towhead....blonde white hair. I can remember people surrounding us when we would be walking down the street and reaching out to touch my sister's hair. With her being a toddler, it was quite frightening to say the least! However, I have some very fond memories of that time and some great souveniers. And, yes, we DID have a mamasan and papasan and yes, we did wear kimonos and wooden flap shoes with the white one toed sock, slept on futons on the floor (none of the up off the floor stuff) had ricepaper walls and doors (until we moved to military housing) and yes, we did go through many earthquakes, some quite high on the richter. It was truly amazing and scary!!

We lived in Frankfurt, Germany from the late 50s through the early 60s and then again in 1967. I met my late husband there. He was a helicopter pilot, just returning from Viet Nam and I was properly impressed! :) We were married for 15 years and produced a fabulous son whom I adore and love with all my heart. He is a policeman and serves his city well. He is married to a truly wonderful woman that I consider my own daughter. I am very fortunate to have them both in my life.

Other places that I have lived are Maryland, Virginia, Kansas, Texas and Oregon. Each have their own fabulous qualities and I hold all the memories of living in each state close to my heart.

My newest passion, read that as actually obsession, is photography. Purely beginner and always trying to learn more and more. Many of the wonderful people I have met here on Flickr have helped me tremendously in that regard and I cherish them for their help and critiquing and encouraging comments. Please, keep doing so!! I need all the help I can get!!

I have many interests, but, as stated above, photography is now my most obsessive one! I am looking at things so differently now. I love butterflies, hummingbirds, birds in general, glorious sunrises and sunsets, and all my furry children and grandchildren....I have 5 furbabies and 6 furgrandbabies!! (Doting mom and Nana...lolol) and of course my real skin son and daughter-in-law! I enjoy cooking and baking and hope to get back to my sewing and embroidery some day. However, taking pictures and flickr seems to consume my days of late! There are just too many interests to list!

So, a short synopsis of my life....happy photographing to all!
