The magnified banality. That seems a kind of oxymoron, but in the case of Dan'w work, it's true.

Dan was one of my first flickr contacts, so I have had the pleasure of seeing his work continually grow and evolve, from the "First Successful Bunch of Home Developed Negatives" to the poignant "Mental Health Services Users" series, and all in between. Dan was one of my first flickr contacts, so I have had the pleasure of seeing his work continually grow and evolve, from the "First Successful Bunch of Home Developed Negatives" to the poignant "Mental Health Services Users" series, and all in between. It's honest work, his vision is unique. I also love the fact he does his black and white work in a little shed in his garden. There is an image in my mind of Dan processing film in that shed, listening to Tom Waits as the rain falls outside. Dan, thanks for the laughs and inspiration. You rock the most.

Franks Wild but thoroughly kind-hearted. He doesn't take himself too seriously, while he is serious about what he does. He takes the time and trouble to be a caring friend, to pursue his own work with a real Elliot Erwitt doggedness, but not to think his way is the only way. He appreciates other's photos and he's appreciated here for his wit and upbeat feel for fun. I cannot help but smile, knowing that Dan is my buddy across the pond and photographic-comrade. His work often makes me laugh out loud, and on the rare occasion where there isn't an outright guffaw, his comments & silly feedback will do the trick! Enjoy yourself -- get your feet wet in Dan's photostream & make contact with Franks Wild -- anyone who holds Tom Waits & Erwitt up as his role models -- well, damn -- he's got a genuine feel for people & stories, with some kinda taste oozing from his fingertips!

It must be great to see the world as Dan does! ! The sense of fun in his street photography is infectious, and his photos can't help but show us how amusing and bizarre life can, and should be. There's no place for pomp in his work, and irreverence rules, so please don't ever take life too seriously Dan, we'd all be th… Read more

There's no place for pomp in his work, and irreverence rules, so please don't ever take life too seriously Dan, we'd all be the poorer for it, and as they say, "way down in the hole" is where you get the best perspective on life.......so keep lookin' up, mate!!
