I was born in Belgium but the family moved to Quebec,

Canada in 1956. There I lived the beginning of my education in the country side spending my free time either fishing or hunting, snowshoeing or helping with chores on local farms. In 1965 at the age of 14, I was moved to the Detroit area and later a two year stay in L.A.. With the help of special friends I was able to keep one foot in the country side. I am now back in Quebec and have been able to pick up my hunting and gathering ways again. Through time I have had a horse farm, I've been a fishing guide and a canoe guide. I have been a motorcycle racer. I have given music shows, played to 1,000+ crowds and just as fulfilling, played on the back porch with friends. All was accomplished with the guidance a very special people.

Today, when I hit the woods, all of these experiences come with me and fill the quiet moments. To this I hope to add photography, hopefully with the guidance of special friends again.

Testimonials

Jean-Marc Lucien DeRaeve, the name has a beauty and flow to it just like the man. Jean is a true 'straight shooter', real outdoorsman in the true sense of the word. I am proud to call him friend. He is also one of the best guitar pickers around with an amazing 'touch'. Most of all Jean is just a fine human being.
