Photography is a curiosity that was born in me. It then developed into a passion, and it was only later that I realised it had become a form of therapy, a companion. Since then I have never been alone, it is a constant thought, perpetually present in my daily life, a thought characterised by curiosity in both the world and in people. It is the study of people’s expressions, understanding the significance of a person’s gaze, observing people’s hands and how they move, daintiness and femininity, the charm of a figure as it walks away.

Regardless of whether I know them or not, people captivate me. My attention is drawn to them when our paths cross, by the small details that render them unique in this world. I love their unawareness. I like to be invisible when taking a photo, when capturing an intimate and private moment. It’s less important they think they came out well than that they recognise themselves.

The image is already in my mind before I take a photo, it is an unconditioned reflex, an instinct.
