I'm a naturalist who specializes in snakes and in particular, the snakes of Alberta. I am retired from everything ... employment and volunteer positions. I used to give snake safety presentations in southern Alberta and in particular in Lethbridge which has an active rattlesnake population. While I have given numerous public presentations, most of my talks in the last years prior to my retirement were to corporations which worked in rattlesnake habitat in southern Alberta. Those presentations were done through the Friends of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre in Lethbridge. I had also worked as a volunteer at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre which is a place I recommend to everyone in the Lethbridge area who has any interest whatsoever in any aspect of nature.

I am not a professional photographer, as you can probably tell from the photos. I have studied the rattlesnake (and other snake species) populations in southern Alberta and most of these photos are taken at or near either overwintering den sites or rookeries (birthing dens) which are located in Lethbridge and other areas in the south from the Saskatchewan border to the western limit of the rattlesnake community, and to the BC border for other species. There are a few bird photos which originate in Saskatchewan and B.C. as well as those found in Alberta. Almost all landscape photos were taken in Alberta, a few in B.C. There are a few animal photos from both the Calgary and Edmonton zoos.
