A COPPER ROSE METAL ART
Drag to set position!
I changed careers in 2000 to become a welder. During my time as an "apprentice" welder, I got an opportunity to work with a local blacksmith artist. At that point, I was hooked on doing more creative ornamental work. My husband and I own a custom metal fabrication and coppersmithing business as well.
My favorite medium is welded steel. I particularly enjoy making things out of metal that people would not expect to see made out of metal. I also specialize in the techniques of repousse and chasing, which are basically advanced metal embossing techniques. My goals with my art work are to get away from the more traditional themes of subject matter, and challenge myself with more unique subject matter and detail-oriented pieces.

My side business, which I started in 2010, Pitch It To You - Chasing & Repousse Pitch, continues to thrive. I did discontinue my retail relationship with Rio Grande Jewelry Supply and now only offer my pitch through my website, www.chasers-pitch.com. Again, this was in an effort to take back some time to focus on my personal art portfolio. The pitch I make is a good medium grade chasers pitch that is suitable for most repousse and chasing projects. This product has already gotten some great reviews and I look forward to continued sales going forward!
My goals for 2014 are to focus on my personal portfolio of art for my business, A Copper Rose Metal Art, along side our very busy schedule with The Metal Shoppe. We are looking forward to a year of continued growth and creativity!
