As for the images, I am less interested in the images as artifacts than I am as sources of information. Images are edited so as to convey the most information and content. Most sepia-tone and yellowed images have been gray-scaled so as to restore the image and minimize visual "noise".

The focus of this collection is the 1870s through the 1960s, which might be considered the "Golden Age" of Ashtabula, but is also the confluence of coal, steel, and photography.

I will include more recent images from other Flickr members in Favorites.

Geographically, I am limiting images to Ashtabula, Saybrook, and Kingsville.
