Over the past year or so, I've really gotten into photography. I wouldn't consider myself to be a great photographer, since I've had to teach myself thus far (I have no idea what I'm doing). But I still really love it. There is so much that you can do and convey with just the push of a button.

Anyway, I was inspired to take up photography for a few reasons. I subscribe to National Geographic, and - need I say more - the photos are incredible (ok, I'll admit it, sometimes I don't even read the magazine and I just look at the pictures instead). The stuff those photographers create is truly inspirational. My peers and teachers at school have also been a huge influence. Unfortunately, I'm not in a photography class this year. But I've always been an art kid, and I will be taking AP (advanced placement) Studio Art next year. There are two art teachers at school (one is also the photo teacher), and they have encouraged me to take photo AND art - as they work hand in hand and each helps to improve the other. Lastly, I have some good friends who are currently taking photography. What they've done is fantastic, and they too have been an inspiration.

So, hopefully I will figure all this photo stuff out on my own. For the time being I will experiment and hope to turn out some good pictures soon!
