Ever since I could put pen to paper and scrawl strange shapes that didn't resemble the label 'house', or 'mummy' that accompanied them, my infatuation for creating something colourful and exciting blossomed. Running dry hundreds of felt tip pens, trying to mimic on myself, the vivid, permanent ink that lined my Father's skin, my eye for all things artistic grew to surround everything I am interested in today. Growing up in an environment that allows my imagination to run wild, and where creations weren't restricted to pen and paper, but spread out on walls and upon the skin that covered my family, showed me art is exposed in everything.

Visual communication is everything I achieve when creating a piece of work. The significance of portraying something that informs, persuades, analyses or presents, in an approach that is not only contemporary, but invigorating, is something I push to generate in every part of the process, from the design to the conclusion. In the projects of Graphic Design and Illustration in the Foundation year, I created modern, original work with a strong influence from the artist Mark Weaver, exploring the concept of combining drawing and collage together, something which made my work multifaceted, with its simplicity and cutting edge composition.

I would relish the opportunity to engage and create provocative artwork. The prospect of studying visual communications at such a high standard is not a choice; it is a must.
