I have a love of photography that goes back to my high school days. When I was 16, I saved and scrimped, and eventually came up with enough money to buy a Canon A-1 camera. I think I wanted that particular camera because I saw an advertisement for it in a National Geographic magazine. It was a great camera, but I soon learned that good photographs, like the ones in the magazine, were not easy to make. I also learned that I didn't have a natural gift of being able to take good photos. So... I continue to work on improving my photography skills, all the time, little by little. This feed motivates me to keep producing new images. The photos from others on this site inspire me to keep learning and trying new things.
As a side note: I typically do not write a lot of narrative about my shots because I think good photography evokes emotion, or tells a story, by itself--without needing a lot of words from the photographer. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the stories behind great photos, but I think good photographs should be able to stand on their own.
I am always looking to improve. Your input is welcome and appreciated. Thanks in advance to everyone visiting my feed and posting comments or choosing favorites. You are the reason I keep making photos.
