If i cannot plot my steps by the land slopes or mountain ridges, i call out to the woods...where do i need to be? Peering out into the near distance, i will look for a moving leaf, a twinkle of light, or listen for the birds to guide me in a direction. Never mislead, i am the untrained archaeologist who notices abandoned houses, foundations, stone walls, vehicles, dump spots, grass patches, cactus, and flowers where there is no more of once was. I believe in our woods like some people believe in going to church. It is an all heal for the mind, body, and soul.
