I love steam trains... Always have, always will !! I'm getting on a bit, but was priviliged to be there when they ran in anger ! Spent my childhood in the Bristol area, (Mangotsfield more specifically, where my Family had lived since the 1870's). I cut my teeth on GWR and LMS. I spent many hours spotting on either Mangotsfield Station, or near to the bridge at Shortwood, where you could pick up traffic taking the track to Bath Green Park as well. Amuses me when I see Jubilees 45690 Leander, and 45699 Galatea in preservation bless'em, as they were both shedded at 82E (Bristol Barrow Road) along with 45682 Trafalgar and many others that weren't so lucky!,

Happiest watching GWR in preservation, but at the end of day, I love 'em all.! Favourite engine? Castles (I can name every one) but in particular ...5043, The Earl himself.!
