Things have changed a bit since I last put a note up here. The Canon DSLR I got for Christmas, 2008 has been pretty much retired. It still works and all -- I just don't have much use for 10.1mp images. A few years ago, I bought a Sony NEX 7. It's 24.3mp sensor gives me much more flexibility, plus that sort of resolution allows me to make excellent dupes of my slides and negative images. A big reason why I bought a NEX was because, with its mirrorless format, I can mount any lens I can think of to the front of that camera and achieve infinity focus. I have a fairly large collection of manual focus lenses, and I still use them. Many of them are top-notch quality optics, so it's a lot of fun getting to put them through their paces with my NEX.

I finally got a halfway decent DSLR this past Christmas, which has rekindled my interest in photography. I was very active in the 1980s and early 1990s, and took thousands of slides. I'm slowly scanning my slides onto DVD, and I plan to upload the better ones here. Meanwhile, I'm putting my new DSLR to use (a Canon XS or 1000D), and will be uploading some current images taken with it. All in good time.
