I like to photograph all kinds of flowers. Many of the flowers come from my yard or the gardens of family and friends--others come from window boxes in towns and landscaped gardens that are open to the public.

Pink and Yellow Blossoms

The same is true with the animals--my aim is to show them to their best advantage and perhaps show a bit about their character, too.

Striking a Pose

I have been taking photos since I was a kid, beginning with a black plastic Kodak with a little porthole viewfinder window. Later I graduated to a Minolta SR7 with which I took many many slides.

I confess that the digital camera that I received from “my three kids” on Father's Day is my camera of preference now.

I am still learning -- and a lot of the experiments end up deleted. What's here includes what I have been happiest with so far.

Twilight with Reeds and Egret

Being able to see what others are creating, as posted on Flickr, is a real treat. Your photos are an inspiration to me. You will find that I am not stingy when it comes to comments and faves. Also, that I tend to be encouraging in my comments, not critical. After all, let's find the good and praise it, as has been said.

If I happen to comment or fave your photo, I hope you will visit my photo stream and see what you like, there!

Enjoy!
